Thrifty Common Cents
As we walk through this life we meet a handful of people that make a positive difference in who we become, who teach us of our own worth and who show us love. One of those people for me is Samantha Bloom. Her husband Sean was diagnosed with stage IV intestinal cancer on March 1st, 2011 and passed away April 4th, 2011.

He and Samantha have four boys- Christopher (will be 6 at the end of March), Jake (4), David (3), and Zeke (will be 1 next month).

You can help make this time easier for them through prayer and financial donation. A non profit donation account has been set up for their family.

Checks can be made out to Kristopher Bloom. Medical fund should be in the memo. They can be sent to:.
Vantage West Credit Union
PO box 15115
Attn: Karen Tharpe, Craycroft Branch
Tucson, AZ 85708

You can also now donate securely through their church website!! It's tax deductible.

I am thankful to offer my voice to this cause and ask you do the same. Whether your contribution be through donation or prayer, every single of one of you can lift them in your own way. Please pass this post on to your friends and family.

What is Thrifty Common Cents? TCC is a lifestyle brought on by the current economy. It is a movement of spend thriftiness that includes not only freebies and clipping coupons but a voice to bring every thriftonian together in one place to share ideas and concepts that not only help save your family money but will hopefully give you some pocket change.

I used to list all the deals in a blog, but I am changing to a forum so you all can have a voice. I love how TCC's facebook feedback not only gives me information but shares it with the TCC community and I want to bring that to the site itself.

On the TCC homepage you will find places to print coupons and a chance to sign up for all the sites I refer to as pocket change. These are the types of sites where you might read an email, watch a video, search the net or click on a site to earn credits that you can cash in for either gift cards or paypal. I will also list survey sites, facebook pay applications and other incentive programs that are tried and true. These sites wont ever make you rich, but will earn you pocket change.

Print Coupons:

  1. Cellfire - You can sign up and have coupons added directly to you savings card.  They update every two weeks with new coupons.
  2. RedPlum - This is one you might be familiar with because RedPlum is also in your local Sunday newspapers.  This is probably my favorite place to get coupons because they have some that you won’t find anywhere else.  RedPlum also updates fairly regularly.
  3. Coupons.com - This is probably the largest database for coupons that you will find anywhere.  They update everything monthly.
  4. Smart Source - This is another one you might recognize because it is also in your Sunday newspaper.  They add new coupons twice a month.
  5. Eat Better America - This one doesn’t offer very many items but the ones they have are always good.
  6. Betty Crocker - I am sure that all of us buys a least one Betty Crocker item every month.  They don’t refresh the coupons all that much but they do sometimes allow you to reprint them.Box Top For Education -  This site doesn’t have very many but usually you can find coupons on here that you can’t on other sites.
  7. CoolSavings - This one might be the biggest pain to actually get to the coupons but is worth while after you get there.  Just need to scroll down through a bunch of offers first.
  8. Organic Grocery Deals - I like getting coupons from here because they allow you to print up to six coupons on a page instead of having to print them out individually.
  9. Shortcuts - Another good paperless coupon site is Shortcuts. Check and see if your local store is  a participant.
  10. Proctor & Gamble e-Saver - The is another program that will let you load coupons straight to your savings card.  Check to see if your store participates.
Pocket Change: I actively use all the sites below or I wouldn't list them. I don't have the patience for sites that don't pay and waste my time. If you are on a site that you know works and pays out use the form below putting your special url in the comments section and if TCC signs up for it, I will use your url to make sure you get credit when I sign up.

1. Swagbucks - This is one of TCC's favorite ways to earn some change or should I say amazon gift cards. You search the internet like normal to start but you also earn bucks by voting in the quick daily poll, signing into swagbucks then opening a new browser, just visiting the survey center but also doing surveys and of course inviting your friends. You can make up to 1,000 swagbucks from each referral which is equal to more then $10 from amazon in gift cards. I've earned over $160 in amazon gift cards since I started at the start of 2010 and still going strong.
2. Mypoints - Mypoints is the oldest site TCC has used. I've had my account there for about 10 years and have earned more 25,000 Points and it wasnt until I started publishing TCC that I began using it regularly. How mypoints works is they send you a few emails a day where you just click on them and earn 5 points but you can also do surveys but if you dont qualify for the surveys you still make an easy 10 points. You can also make purchases or use trial offers to gain points as well. I always get the $10 shell gas card.
5. Clixsense - Clixsense is a pay per click site that pays you for each web site url you click open. It's slow going but I spend maybe 2 minutes there every couple of days clicking so it's worth it. $10 pay out.
6. Mylikes - I use mylikes to earn some extra funds with my twitter and facebook accounts.
They allow you to post one url every 7 hours that you can get paid when it's clicked. You dont need a ton of followers or fans to use these sites and let's face it, in this day and age we need all the extra pocket change we can find. They pay through paypal each friday if you make $2 or more. Simple and easy and I have always gotten my payments!! I've gotten paid almost $80 so far.
7. Sponsored Tweets - This site is allot like mylikes. They post urls that you approve on your twitter page. I've gotten paid and really enjoy the variety that this adds in my posts. I've made almost $30 and who cant enjoy $30.
8. irazoo - This is the latest of the sites I use to make spare chnange. It's allot like swagbucks where you search their search engine for points but you can also rate pages and leave comments earning you an easy 100 points a day then add in that random points the site gives you, you can easily earn 150 points a day. They have the $5 amazon gift cards that are 3000 points so you are looking at $5 about every 3 weeks even if no one signs up under you. Between this and swagbucks earning me amazon gift cards I should be able to get a few holiday gifts out of the way or download some awesome music, books or movies. hmmm Maybe that carpet steam cleaner isn't as far out of reach as I thought. ;)
